A Child’s Prayer

Friday, April 28th, 2006

I read this poem & wrote it down while pregnant, thinking that I would like to read it to Devin to help him learn to have a kind heart as he grew up. But like so many other things with kids, we adults can learn a lot from them. So maybe this poem should be entitled “An Adult’s Prayer” instead.

God, make my life a little light, within the world to glow,

A little flame that burneth bright, wherever I may go.

God, make my life a little flower, that giveth joy to all,

Content to bloom in native bower, although the place be small.

God, make my life a little song, that comforts the sad,

That helpeth others to be strong, and makes the singer glad.

God, make my life a little staff, whereon the weak may rest,

And so what health & strength I have, may serve my neighbor best.

God, make my life a little hymm of tenderness & praise;

Of faith that never waxeth dim,

In all His wonderous ways.

Congratulations Mike & Anaik on the birth of your baby girl!

Sunday, April 23rd, 2006

So glad I was part of welcoming your little miracle into the world (Friday, April 21, 1:27pm), thanks for having me there. Anaik, you were amazingly calm & praiseful the entire time, quite astounding! And Mike you were so in tune to Anaik’s needs & wishes…and I got to pray & take all the wonder in.

Incredible Coupons, Bleh!

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006

Went to Watch the Lake Elsinore Storm on Thirsty Thursday, you can read about all the fun we had on red neck night at Mike’s and John’s blogs. The $1.00 beers were half the reason I went and taking Devin to a game was a close second. I’m sure that Linda will blog about that as soon as we get the pics off our camera.
As usual they had T-shirts, balls, pizzas and what not to give away.

So in between one of the innings they start throwing frisbees into the crowd with “an Incredible coupon taped inside of the them”. So I out hustle a bunch of kids, Linda and Nina for one that comes my way.

Score!!!

Now what could the coupon be?

Google Calendar

Friday, April 14th, 2006

This is especially useful for those who don’t use Outlook. I personally have been using Thunderbird with GPG and the Enigmail Extension as my email client for the past few years with pretty good success, I particularly like the ease of managing multiple email accounts and excellent IMAP support. One negative is that you lose Outlook’s calendar. I’ve tried using Sunbird for awhile but that’s never worked as seemlessly as I would have liked.

Now Google is releasing their Online Calendar as usual with google it works pretty well for a beta, the email notifications work well as do the SMS notifications, I might have to talk our home council into adding that to our phone plan, as SMS calendar reminders is pretty sweet, in the mean time don’t tell them that I’ve tested it ;)

What I would really like to try out is shared events and see how that works, so if you sign up for Google Calendar and have an event that you would like to send or share with LMK. If you don’t know my gmail account drop a comment and I’ll get back to you.

Christmas with the Crims!

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

Here’s photos from this past Christmas with my wonderful and funny family in Hermosillo Mexico. I think everyone is either my brother or sister or son or parent. I’ll go ahead and list everyone’s names just for the heck of it.

Parents: Lorraine & Harold

Siblings: Brian, Gabriel, Luis, Georgia, me, Christopher, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Sharon Rose, Lillian Jo, Ivan, Cheyanne Brooke (I got to name her!), and Harold Lee Jr.!

By the way, I want everyone to take note that my Mom has had 13 kids and is still so pretty and youthful! And my Dad is 60 so he doesn’t look bad for his age either…plus he can easily out hike me any day of the week by miles, and believe it or not I can walk for a long time! : )

Love and miss you all (including my sister-in-laws)!
