42 Minutes

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

That’s how long it takes me to limp/jog what I was able to run in 30 minutes prior to ACL reconstructive surgery about 8 months ago. Not only that but it’s more painful now.

So my goal is to is to get back to doing the trail in 30 minutes. But for starters I’d be happy to be able to keep up 10 minute mile without pain, that’s up from 11.70 minute miles today. I’m thankful that I can run at all and that my knee is structurally sound now.

What about a drawing of yourself about 5 years ago - just wow. Still trying to figure out who everyone in that drawing as it’s not based on one photo.

Life in Scandinavia

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

Well here’s my life as a young teen in photos. I can actually remember most of these now :), pretty amazing all the spots I got to live and visit happy memories. Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Tivoli, Little Mermaid, Berlin, Brandenburg Gate, Check Point Charlie and The Eiffel Tower to name a few.

A Not So Cheap Dentist Visit

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Devin went to the dentist for the first time yesterday and was such a brave boy and thankfully didn’t have any cavities either.

On the way home I got a little distracted with Joan as we stopped at this incredibly cheap store and I found these knock offs of “Crocs” for only $1.99…it didn’t matter that they were blinding bright!

So what should have been a harmless $4.00 purchase for 2 pairs of shoes turned into a frustrating and irritating non-refundable, kicking myself in the pants $10.00 purchase! –It pays to pay attention to signs. Oh well, at least I scored in getting 24 Omega-3 gel capsules from the 99 cent store next door…and in case you’re wondering, the Omega-3 is not expired.

Never A Dull Moment

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Spring is here and Wesley’s officially a walker now and Devin’s officially an independent preschooler. Most of the time Devin’s a joy to be around, except when he’s hungry, thanks Connie for helping us to figure that one out!

Just for the record, “hungry” for Devin means going more than 2 hours without eating…sometimes he’ll break out in this angry “no, no, no” (times 25!) song or sorts and each “no” gets progressively more expressive that it’s hard to believe he’s only saying one word. But his sweetness far outweighs his negative emotional outbursts. Like when he picks flowers for me, or holds the door open for me as he tells me how he’s being a gentleman, or tells me he wants to be a teacher just like me when he grows up…it’s always entertaining hearing his latest observations or remarks.

Here are photo highlights from March, never mind that I’m over a month behind, could be worse. I tell you, March was packed with one adventure after another…there’s never a dull moment in our lives for Jesus that’s for sure!
