Ubuntu 8.04 upgrade to Ubuntu 8.10 – easy
Just upgraded to the latest version of Ubuntu or from Hardy to Intrepid. (Alt+F2 and type in update-manager -d).
Expected all the kinds of trouble usually involved in an OS upgrade. But so far no problems, everything runs as it did before.
Only problem was Flash 10 beta which I had to update and now runs fine. Flash player is a pain on 64 bit anyways.
Pretty much a set and forget upgrade took a couple hours on a fast connection, even though it just a release candidate, I just couldn’t wait for final.
Enjoying that my Lenovo T61 WiFi led now works and that pidgin now delivers offline messages from MSN.
Also using Dust instead of the Human theme now and liking it quite a bit.

Speaking of upgrading we still need to change our color scheme…people must think it’s the oddest combination ever, I do. — It’s not on purpose, we just haven’t gotten around to changing it yet.
