Our New Life

Monday, August 30th, 2010

So we’re pretty much settled into our new place and overall things are going great. A lot can happen in 5 months time that’s for sure!

The boys like our neighborhood because there’s this big hilly area where they can roam around and explore and we love how quiet it is (minus us). The neighbors are also very nice and friendly and our boys have made friends with the other kids their age. I’m a little behind so here are pictures from July and August.

The Glad Game

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

We’ve gotten to play the “glad game” this month. Between sickness & more sickness, power outages, rain every day, tons of mosquitoes, we’re still looking on the bright side. Steve & I weren’t sick at the same time so that was nice. And Anita was kind enough to watch our kids for 2 days since I was too sick to care for them & that way Steve wouldn’t have to miss too many days of work. And thank God we didn’t have any water outages which are a royal pain, to say the least. The month is not far from being over, I didn’t take that many photos but here’s what I got.

Here’s to a better month! And thank God for the good health we usually have.

What We’ve Been Up To

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

While Steve is at the office (faithfully working away) the boys and I have filled our days with school, snacks, playtime in the yard, swimming, sword fighting, snacks, dress up, park trips, sometimes just plain ol’ fighting, McDonald’s trips, Costco trips, Wal-Mart trips, etc.

Devin’s trying to make some sort of record with the tallest block tower ever. It’s a painful process I tell you. He has to climb up the bunk bed as the tower gets higher, it inevitably falls, he says “OH GREAT!” and starts the process all over again. And again. Wesley’s talking a lot now which makes things easier for all of us. He gets car sick really easily so I give him mints to help, and the other day out of the blue at the house he starts acting like he’s going to throw up, then smiles and asks for a mint. I didn’t fall for the trick. He also loves picking flowers for me and telling me to put them in my hair. So it’s not uncommon to see me with exercise clothes on, in need of a shower, still needing to exercise, but with a flower in my hair. If only it were that easy to look pretty. And lets see…Preston is turning into a bully, he throughly enjoys smacking or head butting us. I must say he’s quite good at it so maybe it’s something he feels he can excel in during his 14 month of age. I’m keeping my eye on him either way.

We’re also house hunting a bit here and there, but probably won’t be moving until the end of summer. We were able to get a car last month, a dark blue Nissan Altima, and a bedset so we are making progress with getting set up.
